for three years.

I have been working on the above junk

The master is FAN YING. There are

over twenty persons living on board.

At about 13.00 hours on 4.5.38, the

junk was sailing off MAN SHAN (Great Ladrones) when we saw a junk burning in the distance. It had a net hoisted indicating assistance was needed. The master altered

course and approached it. When some distance away, we lowered a sampan and the master two fokis named WONG CHEUNG TAI and HO SHAP and I went along side. I did not board the junk but two women could be seen on deck and calling "Save life". Only the master FAN YING boarded the junk and took the two women on to our sampan. This junk had been on fire, The two women had wounds and were

very exhausted.

When my master came back on the sampan he told us there were many dead bodies on the burnt junk. We took the two women to Hongkong which was reached the following afternoon (5.5.38) My master took them ashore

there.
